Devan completed the master makeup program at Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles in February, 2013, where she was fortunate to be mentored by top professionals in the industry.
She was chosen to compete in the "Battle of the Brushes" student competition at International Make-up Artist Trade Show in Los Angeles where she won first place in the Beauty/Fantasy category. Although Devan is considered to be a well trained and creative makeup artist, she also values her ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
In all of her projects, it is important for Devan to have a vision of the characters she's creating and an awareness of their motivations, personalities and struggles. Whether Devan is working on an ethereal woodland goddess, a sci-fi underwater alien, or a beautiful ‘50s pin-up girl, she strives to bring emotion and purpose both to the characters she creates and the makeup she designs for them. This practice has led Devan to become invested not only in makeup art, but in costume design and hair styling as well.
Devan's work is designed to be a complete picture, and she is committed to creating an integrated package. Due to these practices, Devan has worked on several feature films, commercials, and fashion shows and works hard every day to stay current and active in the makeup industry.
